Horeya Asmat earned fame and appreciation as the first female dhol player in Pakistan at 22 and sparked a trend for female dhol players in Pakistan. In Pakistani culture, dhol (drum) plays an eminent role in celebrations and occasions. This art was originally a part of rural culture, but it has now made its way into urban culture. Performing this art for the past 5 years, she now runs her own institute for aspiring female dhol players. Her dhol performances helped diverge rural and urban cultures- whether at a mizaar, a family gathering, TV shows, Eid celebrations, or national and international conferences. She mesmerizes the audience with her dhol while showcasing Pakistani rural culture on stage with her dhol.
